St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church is going to begin “in person” worship on July 12 at our new Sunday Morning Service time of 10:00 AM.

The building will be sanitized weekly and we will incorporate all the recommended precautions into our “opening.”

We will have:

  • Sanitizer available.
  • Disposable masks available for those that do not have or forget their own.
  • Disposable gloves for those that wish to wear them.
  • 6-8 foot distancing.
  • No hand shaking or “passing of the peace.”
  • No singing – as this is known to project “germs” further than talking.
  • Open windows as weather permits in order to have plenty of fresh air.
  • No formal social gathering/ food and beverage social in the building.

If you have any other thoughts, questions or concerns, please let us know.

Longest Night Service | 2019

Please join us at our Longest Night Service at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ on December 21st. This service is for those whom the holidays are not a joyful time.

This service is offered to acknowledge that this season of joy and celebration is not always joyful for everyone.

It is a time to acknowledge the losses and struggles of life that are often swept under the rug.

We want to create a space for people to face the darkness of life and to give hope in the naming of it and in sharing the load.

For Everything There is a Season…

A message from Pastor Suzanne:

Believing as I do, along with the Preacher of Ecclesiastes that “for everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven,” it is time for me to leave the ministries in Ottsville and Ferndale.  Therefore I resign my position as pastor of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Ottsville and St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ferndale.

…Therefore my last Sunday will be December 22, 2019 and the final service I lead will be Christmas Eve (United Church of Christ, Ottsville).

I have accepted the call as Designated Term Pastor of Shenkel United Church of Christ.

I am grateful for the many blessings and joys of ministry that I have shared with you and the relationships that have been formed.  I entrust you to the grace and wisdom of God for your future ministry in these communities.

Grace and peace,

Suzanne M Spaulding
