Longest Night Service | 2017

Saint Lukes United Church of Christ in Ottsville and St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ferndale will be participating in a Longest Night Service in 2017 on December 21st, 2017.

This service is offered to acknowledge that this season of joy and celebration is not always joyful for everyone. It is a time to acknowledge the losses and struggles of life that are often swept under the rug. We want to create space for people to face the darkness of life and to give hope in the naming of it and in sharing the load.

  • December 21st, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Longest Night Service at Saint Lukes United Church of Christ in Ottsville.

Fall Gathering | 2017

St. Luke Women of ELCA will be hosting the Fall Gathering on Saturday, November 18.

Registration begins at 9:00 AM with breakfast to follow. All ladies of the congregation are invited to attend. For more information, please talk to Carol Lehr or Linda Schaefer.

Thanksgiving Eve Soup and Service | 2017

St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ferndale and Saint Lukes United Church of Christ in Ottsville will be participating in a Thanksgiving Eve Soup and Service in 2017 at Saint Lukes United Church of Christ in Ottsville.

  • November 22nd, 6:00 PM: Thanksgiving Eve Soup and Service at Saint Lukes United Church of Christ in Ottsville.

Men’s Breakfast | 2017

We invite men of all ages to join us for our Men’s Breakfast on September 30 for a morning of good eats and fun! This special event is sponsored by the Women of ELCA. There is a sign-up sheet on the table by the door. Tickets are $5.00 each.

Our New Pastor | Rev. Suzanne M. Spaulding

We are happy to announce that on August 6, 2017, Rev. Suzanne Spaulding started her role as our Pastor. We had been negotiating with St. Luke’s UCC in Ottsville to share Pastor Suzanna since last fall and everything finally came together.

Soup Supper Schedule | 2017

Complimentary “Soup Suppers” continue to be served for all to enjoy at St. Luke Lutheran Church of Ferndale. Donations will be used to provide for The Lord’s Food Pantry and ongoing Ministries’ support.

Usual FREE fare includes numerous soup offerings (5 – 9 selections each day), breads, crackers, beverages and dessert. Food is also available for “take out” for a nominal charge.

Easter Services | 2017

St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ferndale will be participating in the following Easter Services in 2017 at our church and around the community.

  • April 13, 7:30 PM: Maundy Thursday worship here at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ferndale.
  • April 14, 7:30 PM: Good Friday worship at St. Luke United Church of Christ in Ottsville.
  • April 16, 7:00 AM: Easter Sunrise worship with other area churches at Lake Nockamixon marina
    • 8:30 AM: Easter breakfast here at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ferndale.
    • 10:00AM: Easter Sunday worship here at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ferndale following the breakfast.

    Donations of food items for the Easter breakfast are greatly appreciated! There are sign-up sheets downstairs to make your donation.

    Easter Plants:
    Easter Plants are available for sale to help decorate our sanctuary for Easter morning! Order and payment must be received by Sunday, April 2nd. Please use the order forms found downstairs in the church to place your order or call the church office at 610-847-5630.

Lenten Midweek Services | 2017

We will participate in the 2017 Lenten Midweek Program with the churches of the Palisades Cluster. The program, “Grace and Ernest go to Church: Lenten dialogues and skits on Reformation themes”.

Join us Thursday evenings at 6:15 PM for a light supper followed by the program at 7:00 PM.

  • March 9, 6:15 PM: Trinity Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley.
  • March 16, 6:15 PM: St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ferndale.
  • March 23, 6:15 PM: Evangelical Lutheran Church in Durham.
  • March 30, 6:15 PM: St. Peter Lutheran Church in Riegelsville.
  • April 6, 6:15 PM: Christ Lutheran Church in Springtown.
