Rev. Suzanne M. Spaulding

For those of you that haven’t met Rev. Suzanne M. Spaulding she was born and raised in a conservative Baptist home. At the early age of seven, she felt the call of God to serve in some full-time capacity. Given her family background and theological influences the only logical choice was as a missionary.

After graduating from Bible College, she joined a Baptist mission board and served as a “church planting assistant” for 12 years in northeast Brazil and 4 years in China. During her four years in China, Suzanna became convinced that there were more possibilities in ministry for a woman than she had been raised to believe.

In 2005 she and her ministry colleague resigned from the mission board and Suzanne began studying toward a Master of Divinity degree at the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia. She graduated in 2009.

While in seminary, she joined a United Church of Christ Church and pursued ordination with that denomination. In February 2010 she began serving as part-time pastor of St. Luke’s UCC in Ottsville, PA. They extended a full-time call and she was ordained September 26, 2010.
